Buy it now: Hint of a tint
Make-up sales have been on the downslide in lieu of skincare lately, as better informed consumers prefer to show off their natural glow than smother themselves in contour. For those who like a subtle enhancement, there are some lovely new minimal make-up-meets-skincare products around to give you just a hint of… something.
I tried a sample of Glossier Future Dew oil serum* (£23) a few of weeks ago when I went to the London pop-up and I’m ready to go back for more. It’s a very subtle shine-giver with a tint of peachy luminescence – most welcome for the post-winter palour. Slightly more visible is the just-launched Chanel Le Blanc Rosy Light Drops* (£38, above, sample), a gentle pink-hued highlighter fluid to mix into foundation or pat onto tops of cheekbones.
Foundation-wise, while Chanel Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint foundation* (sample) is still my favourite super-light un-foundation out there, I’m also liking the idea of Kosas Tinted Face Oil* (£40) with its botanicals actives to plump and brighten. This has had mixed reviews – I think it’s more suited to oily than dry skin.
For eyes (although it’s not actually new), Make Beauty’s Dew Pot* (in Bronze 2) is my lazy-day eyelid-enhancer of choice, a barely-there lid balm-gloss in pale mocha that I wear with any old mascara. Or if you want something new new, Glossier’s Skywash eyeshadows* (£15, below) have just launched; a longwear liquid-to-powder formula ‘lid tint’, with a sheer, matte finish. ‘Echo‘* is my kinda nothingy neutral shade.
For lips, we’re seeing a big return to super-shiny lip-coloured lips (who remembers Lancome Juicy Tubes? Time to bring them back…!). Shiro Essence Lip Oil (£32, below) is currently on my want list – a beautiful-sounding balm-gloss hybrid, as is everything from this high end Japanese brand. The lip oil contains shea butter, jojoba and squalene – Jane from British Beauty Blogger has more info here.
Kosas Wet Lip oil gloss* (below) also sounds promising, with its hydrating hyaluronic acid and evening primrose oil formula in a wearable colour palette. It’s around the £20 mark though, so keep an eye on & Other Stories, Topshop and co for the accessible-priced dupe version.

What a gorgeous list! I’m using Shiro’s lip oil as evening care and works very well. I may go back to Glossier popup even there’s a long queue!
