Positive fashion: Feel your Phvlo

Phvlo outerwear
I had a meeting with Phvlo founder Johanna Ho a couple of weeks ago, in which I was transfixed by her brilliant hood-collar hybrid. It’s a chic Sacai-esque waterproof garment with a bib that conceals a zipped-in hood. Perfect for carrying around to pop on under your tailored coat if you want rain protection but don’t want to carry an umbrella or a full-on raincoat.

It was a lovely surprise a couple of days ago to be sent one of these gems in the post – thank you Johanna! Phvlo is all about chic but practical wardrobe solutions – with a truly luxurious sustainability focus (the hood is made from woven, water-repellent “Minotech” fabric – the contemporary version of an 1880’s fabric that was made from rice straw).

After a successful career running a brand in China, she has set up from scratch, hoping to solve the eternal dilemma of modern 24/7 dressing. Check out her other multi-functioning pieces here and here, and keep your eyes peeled for the waist bag that morphs into a travel-friendly neck cushion coming next month.
